The town of Toei is located on central Honshuu. See
the maps...
A large proportion of the town, 91 % of the total area, is covered
by forests on steep terrain. The elevation of the mountains reach
a 700-1000 range over the entire area. Despite the mountainous area.
Toei has many beautiful rivers and streams. The Oochise River flows
across the middle of Toei from the west to the southeast. The river
converges on the Tenryuu River in Shizuoka prefecture.
The beauty of these mountains and rivers are well known throughout
Japan. Toei has been listed as part of the Tenryuu Okumikawa National
Park and the Aichi Prefectural Natural Park. Many people enjoy many
different outdoor activities, such as tramping, hiking, Ayu and
Amago fishing, and camping. The many historic sites and folkloric
arts, like the Hana Matsuri, appeals to researchers and students.
We have been keeping the culture and traditions of Toei alive for
many years. The townspeople love the beauty of the town. When you
visit our town, we will entertain you with the same love and hospitability.
