The ruin of
Nakashitara castle

Shitara castle

The ruins still remain from the Kamakura era.

The ruins of Nakashitara castle is one of the oldest castles from the mountainous area. It is listed as a historic heritage site of Aichi prefecture. The castle embodies the style which was present during the Kamakura period. It is surrounded by steep cliffs and the valley of the Oochise river. This site was ideal to prevent the castle from attack.

You can often feel the presence of the local gods when you are standing on these ruins.
